How to Run a Session!

  • Print out the Field Page for the Phase, located right above the first drill.

  • Read each drill summary and watch the drill to understand what skill is being focused on in the video.

  • Note the coaching points, highlight the ones you know you struggle with or that are new to you.

  • Study the Foundation Five Warmup, do each for 1 minute at the start of a session.

  • OR Pick 2 Foundation combinations and work on them each for 2-3 minutes

  • Each session will last just under an hour if done fully. 5 segments of 10 minutes each, for each of the Five Pillars.

  • Break each segment into 3 parts. 3-4-3 principle. 3 minutes- strong side, 4 minutes- weak side, 3 minutes players choice- any skill/move/pass/trick or shot.  (suggestions are in the 10% vault)

  • If  you don’t have a partner, use a wall if you need a pass.

  • The Offensive Recognition Drills if possible will be the most effective if done with a ACTIVE defender.

  • Whenever possible, finish with a game!
